Data

Method of Analysis

Interpretive

Self-Portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci : Very Plain no artistry beside the creation of the person in the picture (main focus)

Make the implicit explicit.

Da Vinci was known for being an eccentric individual it is no surprise that a self portrait might seem steadier more controlled. A display of the self more of a desire maybe than an actuality, an artistic projection.

Self-Portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci : Expressionless but not express less face. Solid gaze and steady view.

Locate patter of same of similar deal.

Much like that of earlier the characters expression and look in the picture shows a man that is not opposing the picture (or lack thereof) around him. Instead it shows a man that is common and consistent again.

Self-Portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci :

Locate organizing contrast.

The entire contrast is gray scale which is unusual as at the time there were many paintings and portraits that portrayed much color even others that this man had painted himself. This could show a relevance that a point of view from this figure is a solid calculated view as much about his character of life might have suggested. Where being subjective could be the worst review.

Self-Portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci :

Anomalies.

A great anomaly could be considered that there was nothing unique about this picture for it to stand out. Generally a specific trait could be altered to show a desire or a manifestation but yet again this could be the product of a non or less subjective design which could be considered an anomaly within itself.
